Forceful land encroachment

This is Sane Majhi S/o of Mukunda Majhi village Kucheijor, Po- Santapur, G.P- Badadharppur, Via- Bhawanipanta, District- Kalahandi, Orissa.Bhuinra Majhi was the land owner was his grandfather had 48.76 acre land but in 1955-56 Brahmin, Kolatha and other people encroach this land forcefully.
Due to many time drought and famine occurred in Orissa the parents had gone away when we were in childhood and stayed at uncle’s house. In the mean time without sell and consent of us our land was forcefully occupied and recorded by the rich people of this village which is mentioned above. When we became adult questioned them on our land and in the reply they refused that our parents were Goti (means daily labor) of that family. Now in the name Kakare Majhi, Tete Majhi and Sane Majhi there is only 4 dec. of land. We have many times protested to get that land but because of they are rich and intelligent. They have occupied all these land by forcefully. Now we are 15-20 landless families and all. We have the records of rights of 1922-23 and 1255-56 as papers.

As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world... as in being able to remake ourselves.
