Assembly of deprived was organized to assert peoples rights over land, water and Forest. This assembly became voice of peoples opposed the Government control over natural resources and those who advocate the people’s rights over the natural resources arrived in large numbers. The hall of trade fair ground Gwalior became the witness of this historic occasion on human rights day.

 
           
 

Illegal encroachment of tribal land by Sponge Iron Factory

 
 

This is Balaji Metalic Pvt a sponge iron factory at Khairabandh village,Birkhela G.P, Latkota block, Sundargarh district. The factory was established during 2003 illegally encroached 3.18 acres tribal land of Sukra Mahal (a tribal). In the mean time it was informed to central home ministry, tribal commission by tribal welfare society. Then after it was identified.
          In Sundargarh district most of the tribal lands were illegally encroached by sponge iron factory. Though this district is know as scheduled district of Orissa. The tribal people facing a lot of problems regarding their own land. People are leaving the land with their sustainable livelihood. They have been claiming before the administration but nobody is listening the people‘s problem. It assumes there is alliance of the government and factories.

   
 
As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world... as in being able to remake ourselves.
