Assembly of deprived was organized to assert peoples rights over land, water and Forest. This assembly became voice of peoples opposed the Government control over natural resources and those who advocate the people’s rights over the natural resources arrived in large numbers. The hall of trade fair ground Gwalior became the witness of this historic occasion on human rights day.

 
           
 

Case study on displacement

 
 

Before the construction of Dhanei Dam 1962 in Ganjam District the people around 10,000 of 1070 families of 8 villages were living peacefully having prosperity of lands with different crops. Villages like Sabitribagada and Luniapada of Bhabarada G.P, Kumula, Bhaliamala and Gochhabadi of Gochhabadi G.P, Jona Banda, Ichhapur and Nirasapalli of Pandripada G.P. The villagers of 8 villages consisting of 3 G.Ps are in encroached forest land since soon after displacement from dam site. But there is no entitlement of the concern lands though the people have consented that they would get land and the compensation from the government till yet it is dreamed.
          The affected people became daily laborer. They are depending on forest produced and its land. They are facing lots of problem ensuring their livelihood. They have no recognition at all in their staying villages and originally they have left every thing with their land which has submerged by Dam. People demanding to rehabilitate properly for their land, livelihood and dignity.
