Assembly of deprived was organized to assert peoples rights over land, water and Forest. This assembly became voice of peoples opposed the Government control over natural resources and those who advocate the people’s rights over the natural resources arrived in large numbers. The hall of trade fair ground Gwalior became the witness of this historic occasion on human rights day.

“We will fight till our last breath” a statement from a poor tribal man named Biswamber Jani. He heads a movement named Bhumi Surakhya Sangathan in the remote tribal dominated Damia Barbara panchayat of Banpur block coming under Khurda District. As per the people from the panchayat who are participating in the 231 days long Satyagraha organized by Ekta Parishad, many of their land has been fraudulently acquired by the local land lords.
Sukasini Jena another tribal lady who is also in the Satyagraha says though their ancestral land is in their occupant but it has been fraudulent sold by the local lord thrice. Now they are being threatened by the person who has brought the land. His goons are trying to evict them from land.
Another tribal man Dasarathi Sabar feels skeptical while talking on the issue. As per him though the original land record is in the name of his grand father but it has been subsequently transferred to other person fraudulently in the last land settlement.
When S. Madhusudan who leads the group was asked about the issue he said that though settlement should take place once in 30 years but it has not taken place in the last 40 years.
He feels confident that along with Ekta Parishad fighting in the Gandhian way with definitely yield some result.
